Xpu-Ha is a gem. The water in the bay is beautiful and usually calm. The whole bay is not heavily built up with hotels, so it is the best place around for a long walk in the sand. There are Paddle Board and other water sport rentals. You can also take kitesurfing lessons. They serve ice-cold buckets of beer for a good price and have a full menu of Mexican and International specialties. You can sit at the tables and lounges when using the restaurant facilities. Check out Xpu-Ha on a Saturday or Sunday – there is a band that usually starts around 3:00 and the locals all get up to dance!
There is an entrance fee for 50 pesos per person. This amount will be reimbursed if you spend a minimum of 200 pesos in food and beverages.
