On the south road through Tulum you will find many chic and expensive boutique hotels, many that open the doors of their exclusive beach clubs to day trippers. In exchange to soak up the sun in this pristine & pretentious stretch of sand you will need to eat or drink the “required minimum purchase” amount set forth by the establishment, usually about $20 USD per person. The food is always delicious and the service is mostly superb, however, you may want to be sure it is a good beach day with minimal wind before you decide to make a day of it. Beautiful days in South Tulum are perfect, but windy days may bring rough waters and large amounts of seaweed.
